FAQ's

Welcome to my FAQ’s

For any questions not listed here, please contact me, using the contact form on my website.

How quickly will I get my Painting if I buy it on here?

I'll send your purchase out as soon as possible. If there are any delays - for example if I need to order a bigger box than I have to ship in, I'll let you know, but everything is normally sent within a week. Around busier post times, it may take longer, but I'll keep you updated.

Artwork Condition

All paintings are checked before being sent out.  My paintings are very textured, and you’ll receive photos/ a client condition report highlighting any significant marks within a month of the delivery date. You'll also receive the certificate of authenticity within a month of delivery (by email)

I do not use masking tape on the edges when I am painting, but I will paint over the marks/ stray paint before sending the piece out to you.  They are all handmade and there may well be splashes of paint on the edges.

All pieces are varnished with Matt varnish due to the texture/materials I use and the mess that pastel can cause! (aka v messy)

Postage and Shipping.

All paintings are boxed/ packaged up very securely. Everything is sent tracked (no exceptions) and insured. I use Royal Mail/ parcel force and my shipping prices are based on this

All parcels will require a signature on delivery. Please do not place an order if you are not happy to pay for tracked postage.

You will receive the tracking information via email when dispatched. If you order more than one piece, they can be shipped together in one giant box, and you will receive a refund for any excess postage costs.

Please check your shipping address is correct at checkout. If you realise it is not correct, please contact me straight away so I can amend. I cannot amend addresses when the item has been sent though.

Customs Costs

These are not included in my costs, you would be liable to pay these.

Local Delivery

I can deliver in Bristol if preferred, please get in touch if you want this option.

Framing

My paintings are not framed. It is the canvas on a stretcher only. I would always suggest contacting a reputable local framer.

If Damages happen....

I hope this doesn't happen but I use couriers and unfortunately it can. Please check your painting when it arrives and contact me straight away if it is damaged. Please also send photos. I'll look at the issues/ damage and come back to you within 7 days with a plan. This may be, if practical, visiting you to remedy the painting, returning the item to me, offering a partial/ total refund, looking at replacement options.

Do you have any paper paintings?

My work is mainly on canvas, so this would be a commission. However, please get in touch with any questions on this.

What if I want a painting in a bigger size/ different colour?

This would be a commission. Please get in touch.

How do Commissions work?

I'll be having section on my website for this, but until then, get in touch via the contact form, telling me what you want/ ideas etc.

I will need to know

Colours, Size and anything you want the piece to represent.

Sending me paint colour names is fine, I can google those, as well as anything you want it to align with in your house. ie- fancy light fitting, plant, sofa etc.

I'll then get in touch and arrange a chat, google hangout or zoom and we can discuss your ideas. Or if you'd rather have an email conversation that is fine too. When we have decided on a piece, I'll take a 50% non refundable deposit, order the materials and start your piece. I'll send a few progress photos along the way. You can them say, more gold/ more pink, less white etc etc.

You'll need to sign it off before I send it, but if we have more than 5 amendments, there'll be extra charges- £15 per amendment. I want you to be happy with the piece and do not anticipate this happening, but we could go round in circles otherwise so I need to have a cut off point.

When you're happy with it, I'll send an email with the final images, and and you'll confirm in writing. And then, the most exciting part, I will send it out to you.

What is the lead time on Commissions?

I paint everyday and will work as quickly as I can, but with commissions, you'll sign off before the artwork is sent to you. It's more important that it is right for you rather than speedy (in my head anyway). It depends on what you want, but in my experience it can be anything from 4 - 8 weeks time wise.

What are the Commission costs?

These will be as my normal painting sizes. Above 100/120cm, (oooh how exciting!) get in touch for a price, but it will be scaleable.

When we have decided on a design and rough timescale, I will bill you for 50% of the total costs. I will then order the materials so the item will not be cancellable at that point, sorry!
